Ghanaian Poet Prof. Kofi Awoonor Among Those Killed During Kenya Mall Attack

I have no sons to fire the gun when i cry
No daughter to wail when i close my mouth
I have wondered on the wilderness,
the great wilderness men call life
An extract from Kofi Awoonor's poem song of sorrow 1 & 2.

You heard about the Kenyan mall attack by Al Shabab Islamic group yesterday? if you didn't you just heard.
Some group of armed men attacked a Kenyan shopping Mall in Nairobi Kenya. The attack which resulted to the death of 59 persons, with over 90 persons  injured have been linked to Somalia Islamic dreaded group Al Shabab. Information reaching me has it that Ghanaian renowned poet prof. Kofi Awoonor was among the 59 persons who perished during the attack. Prof. Kofi, whose poem 'Songs of sorrow 1 & 2  was widely studied by West African students for the general Certificate of Education Exam (GCE) was shot during the attack. Lucky enough, his son who was with him in the mall only sustained several degrees of injury. This is really sad; no one has the right to take peoples life at will...too bad, the world does not understand that language. May the soul of Kofi Awoonor and all those who lost their life during the attack rest in perfect peace, Amen.
